The Christian Post is looking for an Assistant Opinion Editor who will assist the Opinion Editor in managing existing contributors and commissioning op-eds. The Assistant Opinion Editor should understand CP’s audience and have the ability to develop ideas for op-eds that will engage readers and spur debate. The Assistant Opinion Editor will work closely with other editors to discuss current events and brainstorm ideas. This job requires creative thinking, strong editing skills, good communication, and ability to work in a team.
Candidates for this job should have a wide interest in topics that will range from church, politics, entertainment, international affairs, and more. Applicants need to have balance in their views while still maintaining CP’s Statement of Faith. Experience commissioning influential or thought-provoking writers a plus.
This job involves some management responsibilities and requires mastery of AP Style.
The Christian Post covers national and international current events affecting and involving Christian leaders, church bodies, and the general Christian public.

• At least three years' proven experience in news/magazine editing, preferably digital
• BA degree in journalism or related field
• Agree with The Christian Post’s statement of faith
• Based in Washington, D.C., or Dallas, TX
