The Christian Post is the leading Christian newspaper online in America. We keep believers informed of breaking news reports on current events in an objective and fair approach. The Christian Post is looking for an experienced Project Manager who can work in the Washington DC office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Over the course of a project, the Project Manager will need to communicate across departments, make decisions and monitor the progress of the project to keep it on schedule. Important duties and responsibilities for a Project Manager include:

  • Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources
  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees and freelancers best positioned to complete them
  • Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
  • Assisting in the definition of project scope and goals
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Communicating with executives to keep the project aligned with their goals
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments such as schedules and targets on the project as needed
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks on time
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

Skills and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 1-3 years of project management and related experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Cost and risk management skills
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Time management skills
  • Friendly and approachable
